At this point if it replaces me so be it. I have so many other things I'd rather be doing anyway.
I don't even have the energy to be scared about it nor do I want to burn that energy. Just go with the flow and that's it. I'm saving what I can, making my smart financial choices, trying to invest in my health. If AI wasn't going to replace me, ageism would for sure.
Developing software is fun, but I've never enjoyed developing it as part of a corporate job. It just pays my bills. Maybe there was a time that quality work and architecture was lauded but it was well before my career started for sure. It's a step up from some of the horrendous contractor code for sure
