Terrific look at today and the future! My head is where you're at with the loss of humanity, and the real concerns necessary, to elevate the suffering of real people worldwide. I also see the dignity of labor, and its exploitation, being the immediate threat. (the Luddite loom busters were not opposed to new tech, they just feared the loss of their labor's worth and dignity). It's no surprise that 19thC social economic theory flourished in all its forms with the concerns of the Industrial Revolution. But the quote you had of the woman saying that she "didn't want to look a robot in the eye 50 years from now" and explain hit me. I recall being (and still) moved by (android) Roy Batty's final words in the movie adaptation of 'Electric Sheep'. (Blade Runner) where he waxes philosophic about his own impermanence and his realization that his creator was nothing more than a man. Lots to think on, I'm going to suggest this vid to friends.
