"demand for senior leadership positions has gone up" yeah thats nice but if you keep blocking all entry-level positions because it's cheaper to half-ass them with AI and kicking out all the middle tier employees whenever you think it's profitable, you won't GET anyone senior.
The only way to get an actual senior employee newly employed is to actually headhunt them from some other company, which costs a lot of money beyond the normal costs of hiring new personnel.
Senior leadership is something you usually build in-house over a decade or two.
Not that these Quarter-humping spreadsheet jockeys that seem to control such things nowadays seem to have the slightest vision beyond the next Quarterly report.
