flashlight is weird, not sure about that. Useless permission. Biometrics are absolutely useless permission, it doesn't really matter. I remember Reddit added some fuckass nfts a while ago and introduced biometrics permission to the androidmanifest config with it, it might be linked to that, but otherwise it's useless permission. Detect screenshot api is used by quite a few social media apps. Reddit app specifically does try to prompt and tell you that you can download / save / share posts or the media on it, instead of screenshotting the app. But otherwise it's inactive, also not useful Camera because reddit had the camera post option and livestreaming a while ago. That one isn't even promoted when you first start the app or anything, it's only prompted whenever you start actually recording. Coarse Location of course can be used to track you, but iirc Reddit uses this for ad personalization as you said and also for algorithm feed shit. This one is suspicious. These are all legitimate uses. That said, I am not defending Reddit, I just think this subreddit goes full tinfoil hat schizo of the most nothing situations.
