AI isn't taking very many jobs right now. Anyone who believes this is widespread is buying into the media rhetoric. Offshoring has been around for 30 years. Are more companies doing it? Possibly, but there are no solid numbers to pull from here. Plus, companies move from offshoring to pulling back because of the crap quality they get from offshoring. What we can pull from is exactly what [CriticDanger](https://www.reddit.com/user/CriticDanger/) said. There was a huge influx of people in the job market that started in 2020. That huge influx saturated the market at the entry level. These people came into the field because it was well paying, required little to no education, and no experience. Plus, it was fully remote at the time. Those people who got in are not able to move up because of the demands to upskill, so they sit in entry level jobs and coast. Now companies are demanding more education requirements, more certification requirements, and even asking for base level experience for entry level roles because they can. So you can say that something has changed. This is something that has been said many times before. The IT market has had natural ebbs and flows for 30+ years that I have been in IT. It will go through many more in the next 30 years after I am retired.
