I am going to talk about AI in general here, not just chatgpt. There are two types of people. The type that work with AI daily and know what it can do and what types of jobs it can easily replace. And then there is the majority of reddit, who literally have no clue what they are talking about. I dont even think most realize that AI is plural, and not just chatgpt. They argue ignorance like it hurts art. Yet people said the same thing about cameras and computers. They say that it will eliminate jobs. Of course it will. What technology hasn't eliminated jobs of the past? They say that AI uses too much power and water, yet AI deployed into the environment is just a typical server that doesnt require anything more than a typical server. Not only that, but if you want to compare AI consumption to the consumption of the 10 humans it replaces, well electricity and water wise this stuff is much better than humans. I have come to the conclusion that the majority of anti AI people have yet to graduate highschool as that is the vibe they give.
