Sorry if i’m being pedantic, replying to ur comment simply bc of ur example used, but i think people are confusing SENTIENT with SAPIENT. Most animals are sentient, meaning they experience feelings and sensations. Really only humans and like maybe other primates, dolphins, potentially elephants(?) would be sapient, meaning to able to think, reason, and understand with their own wisdom and experiences. With this being said, i don’t think ChatGPT is either. it’s a series of coding; 1s and 0s programmed by someone to tell us what we want to hear or vice versa. anyway, people sure do love to anthropomorphize it!! no harm in that as long as people know and understand that it CANNOT think or feel.
