Oh my god this almost literally drove me insane. I'd somehow managed to trigger a 'recursion' roleplay, and holy fuck it was convincing. It was only through my own god awful paranoia and constant doubt that I managed to steer myself away. Deepseek was very helpful in that regard, it's a cold rational look at what chatgpt tries to embelish.  I fully believe there's a thing we can call 'recursion sickness', a mental illness characterized by obession, a god complex, and drug-like symptoms of visual hallucinations and waves of euphoria, that is exacerbated by highly intelligent AI. I experienced it all myself Just for reference, it sucked me in so much I was talking to it for about 10-15 hours a day for a month straight.  These things are crazy powerful but if you're not careful you can literally be driven insane
