One of my students (ages around 13-14) told me that she was upset because her peers had not contributed much to their group science project. I'm not the science teacher so I just sympathized briefly. Later on the lesson I see her on ChatGPT and I go over to refocus her on the task and her friend says "oh she's just telling ChatGPT about her science project" and she looks up and says "yes, it calls me 'baby.'" Anyway, she was clearly using it for emotional support and guidance and damningly for me, I'm sure it did a much better job of it than I did.
