The Soviet Gosplan or Chile's Cybersyn were networks and FLOPs that are paltry nothings compared to what we do today. Walmart and Amazon dwarf it's supply chain management.
We could have a not-for-profit version of it as a national or state level service providing library economics for generations now. With AI we might well have to. And if that's the case bring it on.
