A doctorate knows how to research. They of course possess specific knowledge but one also has to learn how to assess knowledge in general. Either way, the world becomes less puzzling and more organized simply by dint of getting an education in depth. The unknowns become known unknowns. Familiar territory. Ideas already known, with \*specific\* new suggestions that are not at all "unthought of." There are more things that have been thought of, and mentioned, and discussed, than any AI can find. And there is no replacement for possessing and over time growing your own. This is true at least for the next year, I feel confident.
