These things will be subscription based and/or have paid time-limited unlocks for ultimate fantasy fulfilment. Or after you are "in-love" the robot will start to get unhappy and you will have to buy it gifts. They will have a team of psychologists and a bevy of personalized AI data to figure out how to manipulate you into spending money. People who uses these things will quickly find out they have no other hobbies, no spare cash, will sacrifice vacations, sell their car and take the bus, empty their savings, etc. Not going to be pretty.
