Realistically, 'UBI' would probably be implemented gradually with universal healthcare and basic services on a certain level. Then much more progressive taxation on income, to make low earners be slightly more able to make ends meet. And then with higher corporate taxes. But the first and second part are hard enough, with most people supporting UBI in principle, but then probably being reflexively against higher bracket rates for middle to upper incomes. And even with some international agreements on minimum corporate tax rates, there's tons of loopholes and the minimum rate will probably stay quite low regardless. Even with high support for UBI and the best of intentions, it will be a bumpy ride with lots of unmet needs for a long period if AI proves to be as revolutionary as the most optimistic predictions say.
