The teacher may have 10 years of experience, but ChatGPT and similar tools have only been generally and easily available to people for a few years. They don't have 10 years of experience trying to distinguish genuine ChatGPT output from false positives. Ask them if they expect false positives to occur (anything other than a "yes" is ridiculous), and ask if they've run a few essays they *know* aren't produced by AI through the system to see what it thinks about them. If they're only running "unknowns" through the system, then they haven't adequately tested its reliability. What if your essay is a false positive? Are they *sure* it isn't?
