AI being able to reduce healthcare costs in the way they're implying won't happen for the same reason the extensive medical research being available for free online hasn't done. Symptoms are difficult to diagnose, especially by yourself, and the reason doctors have often struggled to make the correct diagnosis is because you're trying to work out the most likely cause from an almost indistinguishable set of information. Machine learning for identification of any given process requires years of highly detailed, labeled (by experts) input data for every single given disease, we're talking entire PhDs being performed on doing the data analysis for one illness, and anyone suggesting ChatGPT or something similar can do the same is huffing on some absurd pipedream. (remember those memes of the internet saying it's cancer? The AI stuff is going to be exactly the same, except techbros are going to push it unironically)
