My wife teaches a class at the local university and the head professor has a different strategy. He encourages the students to use ChatGPT and then grades with the assumption that it was used. This forces the students to really think about the subject as using ChatGPT to just half ass the class assignments will almost always end in a lower grade. I don't know if I agree with it but thought it an interesting way to deal with the problem.
