Correct, it is called artificial intelligence, but they continue to promote it anyway with disingenuous statements like "understand speech" or "smarter over time" and so on. It's not smart to begin with. It doesn't and never will "understand", which is my point. But they act like it will, which again is disingenuous. You are right: it's all artifical - it's clever algorithms used to fake incredibly small aspects of intelligence.
