To add to your example, another example of this is automatic sinks that were unable to detect dark skin and wouldn’t turn on. It works fine for light skin, but no one bothered to test it with darker skin tones. It’s one of the reasons why diversity is important, because imagine releasing a product and there wasn’t a single dark skin toned person to test it.
