Yeah, I haven’t used Copilot X, but I pay for GPT 4, and I honestly can’t see how this is supposed to be the kind of force multiplier that would justify large scale drawbacks on hiring engineers. It’s good for a few things, but at least in my experience, it will send you on wild goose chases a large percentage of the time, and when it gets stuck in a valley of incorrect answers, it’ll just bounce from one bad guess to the next, before finally telling you to get outside help. Don’t get me wrong, it still is good for a variety of things and I still use it a lot, but the idea that this will dispose of millions of engineers is just not reality. It’ll be a tool to help devs out…one that requires a ton of hand holding and prior coding knowledge.
