Holy smokes, XSLT. That was the hot thing...in 2004. It completely fizzled out. I still can't believe someone was still using it. I did a search of PL/1 on indeed withing 25 miles, and I got no results. None. In the heart of Silicon Valley. And I never even heard of JCL. I would recommend learning a language (I think you can scrounge around and get free C# cert vouchers) and create some stuff on the side. But your mom is in a bad place because she never kept her skills current. That's the kiss of death for CS.
