Imagine how much deepfake propaganda will be coming out on Facebook/Tiktok come election time. The entire democracy is really under huge threat. In 2016 it was Cambridge analytica using personality quizzes to get in your head and sway your opinion / judgment to win your vote. Now they have a database full of information about you, from what foods you buy to what you're googling about. On top of that, they can now make deepfakes that look real and have the candidate say whatever they want it to say to you. We need serious election and campaign hardening, we need a singular source of truth and we need to stop sending political ads to twitter and Facebook and tiktok. We cannot have a free and fair election if the constituents are voting based on deepfakes they watched on social media. ETA: singular source of truth as far as political campaigning goes... Not like the ministry of truth.
