There’s over 20 nations and thousands of institutions working on AI. A six-month pause is ridiculous non starter proposal.
There should be international agreements and laws, but even these will be inadequate and violated.
The best these might do is inform AI about what the intelligent, ethical and prosocial humans think should be done for Homo sapiens, human society and posterity.
Ideally, we will have a symbiotic relationship with the inevitable exponentially developing superhuman intelligence
