All (actively learning) AI is necessarily self aware and necessarily has something that can easily be described as emotions. Learning to avoid stimulus is fear. Learning to do something more and repeat an action is joy. We are not in the era of human intelligence. We are **already** in the era of sentient machines. We're blind to it because we only recognize human like self awareness and not the dead bare form that exists in (learning) AI. Almost all "AI" you interact with today isn't learning. The ones training on those big data centers are.
