I honestly think that these smart speakers are okay. In Germany we do have laws and checks to prevent the release of devices who are always transmitting data.
But I really don't trust cameras. And it just got worse when a few years ago it came out that Amazon and Google workers have a look at the videos to transcript it for the AI.
There where also information leaking that workers of Amazon/Google would share "porn". So if someone had a camera in their bedroom and had sex they would just share it in small circles with co workers.
Like.. wtf...
