Turkey just obliterated [Russia/Assad in Syria](https://www.insider.com/turkey-drones-syria-russia-wont-confront-directly-2020-3) with armed drones, and the same armed drones [kicked Armenia out of Karabkah](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/dec/29/uk-defence-secretary-hails-azerbaijans-use-of-drones-in-conflict). And Turkey is not even a world power.
Autonomous armed drones are not that far fetched.
