Automation always impacts jobs, always will, always has. Typesetting is (almost) none existent now, big printing facilities are mostly gone, large copy centers are few and far between, and soon the desk top printer will vanish, and take (the manufacturing) jobs with it. But if you are in an industry that is being replaced by automation, or new technology, you need to be aware of your coming hardships and adjust. If you don't you will fail. There will always be something new to move into. Typesetters learned to use the new equipment, large printing companies, started to go digital, copy centers became shipping locations, and printer manufacturers moved on to other products. Adapt or die, has always been the best way to stay in business, or to stay employed.
