I got curious about this. I asked the only person I know that investigates crimes. Army CID friend. He said that they are not only NOT allowed to use facial recognition... But they are not allowed to use video evidence as the only basis for a conviction.
Other than company level infractions (there are a lot of those)... He had never heard of the Army wrongfully convicting someone.
