@jhonnyperez8705 Right, but even though the car is looking backwards, if the lady is facing forwards, at that moment it would only be able to see the front of her body not the back. This video is cropped but you can find a full frame version of it on YouTube.
I think it actually is creating texture mapped 3D models of the entities in the road. But it renders blank the portions of the object it has not seen yet, then fleshes the object out as it gains more information by traveling around it. Therefore it can display objects on the screen from any angle, even parts that are invisible to the car and passenger at a given moment.
I would love to see this in a consumer grade Tesla though I don’t think there is any motivation for them to do so, since it’s not beneficial to autonomous driving.
