Yes, it does happen every time, but \*this time\* the sitting president hasn't conceded, so they are showing on which side of \[potential\] conflict they stand. This makes it more difficult for Trump to fight the results. He will sue, I believe, and perhaps make some desperate moves, but has very limited international support.
