Slavery in the US lasted from the 16th to the 19th century and the civil rights movement was supposed to end discrimination in the late 60s. Yet we’re far from there to this day.
Now imagine the time it will take in India where the cast system has existed in some form or another since ancient times. I wish for them to reach equality as soon as possible but there is an immense cultural obstacle.
