I'm in my first year of university and we recently did a module on cybersecurity. One of the topics was the use of biometrics, their advantages, disadvantages etc. I was shocked to see that "invasion of privacy" wasn't even mentioned. I get that they inherently don't invade your privacy and **can** be used in a way that protects it, but I really expected at least one mention of "a disadvantage of using biometrics is the potential violation of privacy depending on how they're used." I don't know, I could be absolutely wrong, but I just think people need to be more aware of freely giving out biometric data to be stored in some random database for later use in God knows what way, malicious or otherwise.
