Facial recognition doesn't look at someone and say yes/no.
It'll look at your face and spit out a percentage. "This guy is George, I'm xx% sure". It doesn't have to be 100% accurate. Only better than a person could do it.
Imagine a cop looks a black man and easily mistakes you for somebody else and you'd be helpless. That's absolutely horrible.
