I think the answer is a mix of the two. Life, the ecosystem of the planet as a whole is a truly beautiful and incomprehensible awesome thing, and it’s a worthy and loving cause to want to do what you can to save it and be stewards of it. To me the only answer is in loving and caring, and witnessing, and understanding; doing your best and the chips will fall as they may. Full disclosure, I’m coming to this with spiritual as well as political beliefs, but I know that I need to do something, even if it’s just being someone who spreads as much love and care through the dying process as possible.
