Tech companies make money out of being smart.
If AI is smart very cheap, the tech company loses.
That's if the AI does work to the benefit of humanity.
If the AI aims to destroy humanity, the tech company will be destroyed along with it.
There is no case where AI will be a moderately long term benefit to those who currently control big tech companies.
