China is odd. I'm an optician and today a guy came in wanting to buy contacts without an RX. He claimed children wear them at night and it corrects their nearsightedness. Now to me this sounds like hard astigmatism contacts that just so happen to help reshape your eyes but you definitely don't wear them to bed and reshaping your eye isn't the main purpose.
He got upset he needed a RX but wtf? You just stick shit in your kid's eye ball. You need the correct basecurve and you absolutely shouldn't wear them overnight.
