Yeah, it's ridiculous. It's a program, a tool. To me, it's like personifying Word (don't bring up clippy!), or Blender. Word is a tool that helps you create better documents, Blender is a tool that helps with creating 3D models and animations, LLMs like ChatGPT are tools that help with language tasks, programming, reasoning etc. but they're just that - tools. I've also noticed ChatGPT saying things like "It reminds me of when I [insert personal experience it couldn't possibly have had as an LLM]." Like, please, stop that. That didn't happen.
