I am currently working at a medical facility in Uganda, and this really isn’t on our radar yet - we have other issues to deal with - Hospitals with 2 nurses for 100 patients in cramped quarters. There are constant issues running out of IV fluids and even clean drinking water in the hospital. Antibiotics are also in short supply. TB and malaria kill and affect so many more people than this and few people bat an eye. It makes me a bit sad to hear so much sentiment about isolating the people of Africa to keep “their diseases” away from affecting the rest of us, while good people who are not that different from us will die from what really are treatable illnesses. More support from the local governments to supply their hospitals with better care would help mitigate situations like this significantly.
