There's too much competition in the car insurance market for them to artificially raise insurance costs for self driving cars if the risk doesn't justify it. At the same time, they won't all disappear either. There's still room for error from dumb things people do (like walk right in front of a moving car because they're too busy on their phone. This has been happening more in big cities lately). Also, insurance covers things that happen when you aren't driving to. Such as if someone vandalizes your car or steals it (although stealing cars and getting away with it seems like it's becoming a lot harder with newer technology to).
