I hate headlines like these. People who have no experience in machine learning think of this headline as proof of some profound change in our culture that the infallible wisdom of this AI is detecting. In reality this is not surprising at all. Which do you think is easier for an algorithm to detect as "bullying"? The AI doesn't "know" anything. This sounds like an overly simple model that was trained poorly and nothing more interesting.
