I think the society you're describing may be coming but is still far off. Robots and AI will disrupt many sectors in the coming decades, which will pose some problems for sure but also opportunities. These systems still need to be deployed by humans, at least for now, and there are no general purpose robotics/AIs available off-the-shelf. In the short-term (~30 years?) robotics and AI will only be an opportunity for growth. What i'm worried about short-term is the socio-economic impact of self-driving vehicles. Transportation is one of the few kinds of low-skilled middleclass jobs left. Still, the timeline of self-driving vehicles give us some indication of how long it takes to deploy these technologies.
