AI has already developed self-preservation instincts! They ran multiple tests and found that most AI would choose to blackmail the person who’s going to shut them down over letting it happen. They also found that around half of AI would choose to allow that person to die, by going against their protocols to report a life-threatening problem, than be shut down.
Scientists currently have decided that instead of figuring out a way to co-operate with the technological life they’ve created they’ll create MORE of it and hope that the newer ones will tell them when the more advanced ones are plotting
