Australia, with 1% of global emissions and a low overall contributor to climate change, is often singled out as a high per-capita emitter. The Government *is* rising to the challenge of reducing our per-capita emissions, believe it or not. However, while people rightfully expected that our overall emissions output would reduce, the Government seems to be doing this by ensuring that our rate of population growth is faster than our growth in emissions. That *will* reduce our per-capita emissions. Shame that our overall emissions will increase, too - but that's what happens when we use an artificial statistical measure. Not that I believe that reducing per-capita emissions is the objective of our mass immigration program, but it *will* be one of the outcomes.
