I was thinking of writing an essay using the spectacle in terms of the image of riots and where they fit in the spectacle. Whether they are liberatory or not. Maybe some other stuff it was just my reaction to this piece. Would that be a better application of debord's views? I once found a quote talking about images becoming cliche like where people live cliches and I was thinking about exploring riots as opposed to that and riots as part of that. I will find the quote if this is unclear.
