"But it's pretty cool" in reference to AI systems potentially having catastrophic, life-ending errors is something I should be reading in a fucking Cyberpunk-themed parody of society, not something that's happening daily.
It was really disappointing to see how deviantart went about this. I had 17 years of art on there. What made me mad though was that my art in the subscription teir had been automatically opted in (well before their descision to make it all opt out). On top of my voicing my concern about my commercial art and subscription stuff being opted in, they did their lil podcast and interrupted artists. T…
Africa is the future of manufacturing. This is a huge step forward for them. I can only hope they use the coming monies for education, women’s education, and investment to meet standards of living
The thing is, AI can never generate exactly what a person wants. So thus, there’s still a use for artists.
AIs tendency to just LIE is so insane to me. We use one of those "ChatGPT wrapper that's connected to your internal system" tools at my job and if you ask it a troubleshooting question it loves to say it has the ability to...actually fix it? "If you want me to fix this, just provide the direct link and I'll tell you when I'm done!" I don't think you will bb
I figured out the deepfake problem guys! We just have to make an insane amount of deepfake porn with politicians, it's the only way. Then MAYBE they'll start to care about it and make laws about it.
This is a lawsuit that could get really spicy. Imagine the blowout if courts rule that ChatGPT is guilty of copyright infringement? That would potentially set a precedient and mean...ChatGPT can't use anything but pretty much it's own data to train itself. The bubble is beginning to show it's weak points.
Instead of fire and ice, this world is going to be destroyed by AI......
Robert Frost: this was out of syllabus....... 🙄
Architect here. AI is not the immediate threat to white collar work - outsourcing to india and china is! So many architecture firms are outsourcing work to india and china and laying off lots of entry level and mid level jobs that would go to graduates. Graduates need to complete hours and gain experience to earn their license. What happens when you have loads of college students and graduates ja…
How much did Meta pump into the alternate meta-verse before saying ok we/tech are not ready to live in this alt universe, quite yet. Gave AI a shot and a quick answer...
Meta, under its Reality Labs division, has invested significant resources into the metaverse, resulting in substantial losses.Since 2020, Reality Labs has accumulated **nearly $70 billion in cumulative operating losses**, includ…
But ABC doesn’t bother to tell us what the whistleblower revealed about OpenAI’s misdeeds? Huh.
You can actually take AutoGen and automate away most middle-management and even upper-middle management tasks almost on a whim, but it never gets implemented because the middle managers always shoot it down.
What I don’t understand is if millions of jobs are lost then who is going to buy products and services and keep the economy going
A toddler with a crayon is more of an artist than any AI shartist.
EDIT: Thanks for all the likes!!
Do not be silenced! Thanks for compiling this information for us. AI bros are not welcome in our community.
I dont have an issue with tracing as long as its not someone elses orginal art. I do have an issue with ai art though
OpenAI is pushing REALLY hard to make it SEEM like there is emergent behavior, amd I believe they introduce this behavior, and glazing, purposely to increase engagement, drive sales, and manipulate users emotional attachment.
The US Constitution comes up as AI written. Which is either a case-study on how shitty these tools are or the canary in the coal mine for time travel.
The AI customer service part never ends well. People already skip the AI to go talk to a representative.
Fully agreed.
Also,
>maybe just mention that I recently moved out of my parents’ house against their will and that I'm currently dealing with law enforcement?
No - as long as you will be able to go to work as the employer requests, this does not need to be disclosed, and disclosing it will make you a less attractive prospect.
