AI won't completely wipe out white-collar jobs, but it will make them much less valuable compared to other kinds of jobs. We already have a huge surplus of college-educated people who have studied subjects whose expertise is not strongly wanted on the job market. The same will happen with typical white-collar jobs. AI will not automate all of them, but it will automate 90% of their job descriptio…
But now, the SCOTUS took away protection from the copywrite office. AI can now be fed copywrite materials to learn from without penalty. How is that fair?
it’s crazy to me how artists support character ai like it doesn’t have the same negative effects on the environment and doesn’t also steal
I dunno man, Google has a few cars on public roads with a 100% success rate, and Volvo has 100 self-driving cars on Swedish roads right now and they expect to have self-driving cars in full production by 2016. To say there'll be no driver-less cars within our lifetime or our children's lifetime seems a little pessimistic
Yea, we are already paying for them now. I don't use AI voluntarily. I noticed that it's completely integrated into Facebook. I don't use Facebook. Disgusting content.
I remember when my parents used to laugh at me and told me that could never happen.
Government spending counts towards the GDP, as does all the "in kind" trades that AI and GPU manufacturers are doing.
Consumers spending had next to no impact on the GDP anymore, so it is no longer a proper recession indicator.
Don't worry, A.I will never get your art slot in this world. I am not speaking in a thousand years worth of technological progress, but in your lifetime it will not happen. What will probably happen is: another tool for you to use will open up. Just like photography hasn't killed painters or how film hasn't killed photographers, it's just another tool we will learn to use.
Also, as much as we fe…
very good point, what if the failure rate for a ai doctor becomes much lower than a human doctor? then people will prefer the ai doctor
AI bros are afraid because they get exposed on how lazy and vapid their products are.
No it was the the guy trapped in the sever room with diminishing air and rising temp. The AI silenced the alarm even though it was only supposed to do that if there was no emergency. The reason was guy was shutting the AI down or making changes or something like that. It was another test, like the blackmailing, pretty easy to miss really.
Yeah the problem isn’t ai. It’s the fact artists can make art without worrying about not being able to afford to live
We failed to make the internet a true public service. What makes you think we'll succeed with AI?
We could have under 45 cents a month and free high speed WiFi for all that connects all devices and calls. But instead of using taxes to collectively bargain as we should be... people somehow prefer giving exorbitant amounts to companies they don't even like.
The problem with this is that for AI doing physical tasks as I understand it, it still needs to be trained on something, be it Reddit posts or picture or physical activity or any kind of data. So, if something like this happens you might need to hire people to do the work to train the AI. If people are smart, they will refuse to do this, and then probably the startup probably goes full steam ahea…
@VarunMayya lol, dalle 2 is super good
creative jobs aren’t gonna be replaced any soon and obviously will not be the first even when they do
I promise you that it is not conscious at all. It is only a program and you really need something more complex to make a true AI. The first AI that we humans first believe is conscious will probably not be conscious. Because it is much easier to make an AI that can fool you to believe that it is truly conscious. Then to make the real deal.
It's even impacting coders, software engineer
And even those jobs which made AI like AI,ML engineer, data analyst etc.
That's exactly the point a lot of the courts, economists, etc are arguing. This is why I don't believe A.I is gonna get that outta control like these companies want because in order for these CEO's to make money, they need people to work. Hell the minute people stopped working due to covid, the world had a legit risk of going into an apocalypse and when employees didn't even want to go into the o…
Forget it. There are better way to use AI
1. Early cancer detection
2. Radar imaging software
3. Calculate asteroid trajectory
4. Testing new scientific hypothesis
Oh ye, fair point since like 90% of those AI "artists" hate anything that far-right hates@Krystlgaming
