I literally got in an argument with my mom bc she was saying it takes a lot of time and thought to make the AI art come out the way she wants it to, I told her “now imagine instead of using AI you had to actually make the idea you have in ur head urself with ur own hands”, she still didn’t really get it

I have no strong feelings either way when it comes to artistic AI, though I do think that like with copyright and free use laws/legislations, it should probably have its own set of laws/legislations when it comes to who owns or can copyright what it creates and what should be done when it comes to mimicking the voices of others

They said that 'drawing' minor characters is more difficult because there's less art of them for the AI art to steal, so the art will be noticably more inconsistent or incorrect. Or there may even be no art for the AI to take. They are doing this so they can still try to cover their tracks.

I don’t even trust my robo vacuum to not fall down the stairs. I sure as hell am not going to trust a self-driving car with me or anyone I love inside.

15:37 as a law student, this has LITERALLY happened. My classmates have advised younger students not to use any AI to do homework and to just read our textbooks because it literally makes up cases from thin air for them to cite in their arguments.

I used to be a self-hating artist, which became my brand for a while. Then these ai art trends happened and I've never defended art more than I have now, even becoming proud as an artist in the process. But my whole thing was that I hated my work! The ai bros gave self-worth and confidence, and I will never forgive them for that.

AI infra costs make me think that no startups with make it unless they get bought up early on. AI is just too expensive to run.

My favourite moment of Gemini is when I tried to get a photo of a white Prius next to a river and it kept outputting every other colour that white. The inclusivity thing doesn't even limit itself to humans. I even saw a post where it kept outputting chocolate ice cream when asked for vanilla instead.

The problem is that a lot of the corporate people implementing AI has no real insight to technology or how it works. They just use buzzwords and vague goals.

I think AI making music is so stupid. It ruins all creativity. When I see ads for AI music generating apps claiming that ‘it makes music making super easy!’ I crash out.

Don't they already have one, the US passport database? Am I not being vigilant enough—other biometric info, understandably, no. Facial recognition (ie passport photo matching and what TSA eyeballs already physically process) isn't giving them info they don't already have, what are the nefarious uses?
