Yep. But like a lot of things fear of the future drives the question popping up daily. To answer the question: The best response I have seen to this is _Programmers will not lose their jobs to AI. They will lose their jobs to programmers who embrace AI as a tool_.

striking against the use of ai wont do anything in the executives eyes except highlight the need for ai to replace workers even more.. this goes for any industry at risk

remember when people used to joke feeding an ai the internet would make it want to make us go extinct?

Depends what you intend on using it for, and how much you care about it being identifiable as AI generated by a small portion of those reading it. If you're a news site and want decent quality articles that don't appear to be AI generated and are factually correct then yeah, you need a lot of oversight and fine tuning. But if you want to shape public opinion on a particular website, and have a …

Funnily enough, Troy Baker *did* try to sell his voice to an AI NFT company, and only backed out after huge backlash from the public and his peers.

Pretty much certain they are both going to go onto the entities list with a presumption of denial for export licenses.

I'm not a farmer, but I do soil health research, so I'm always on a random farm or ranch. I never see Black women, but the day I do, I will be so happy!

You don’t need AI for any of that. It’s an optimization task with classical algorithms. So it’s most probably a marketing spiel. Still cool tech tho.

“We expanded way too fast and we absolutely have to cut headcount to stay in business, but I don’t want to sound stupid, so … AI.”

Not thinking makes you stupid. Tools do not. > Google maps making me stupid. Well, this is a great example. People learning to drive today are so used to following Google Maps instructions. They don't learn to navigate. Yes, you can learn to navigate, and practice that skill - but few people do in 2025.  Ditto calculators. A modern calculator is incredibly powerful - but I can work fast…

For me, what helped was gently pressing my finger on the side of my jaw (near the joint) while slowly opening my mouth to the point where it *usually* clicks. At first, I pressed a bit more firmly, but when I tried a lighter pressure and followed what ChatGPT suggested opening to the point it clicks (while gently pressing), holding that position for about 2 seconds, then slowly closing my mouth w…

But who is going to upgrade to the paid version if the free version sucks? "Oh this LLM is really shitty, I should give them my money!"

This is what happens when they switch models on the fly like this without any testing. Imagine in the future you're running a billion dollar company and the AI provider rolls back some version and your AI based product fucking loses functionality and vehicles crash or medical advice kills people. Its crazy.

I don't think this is so much different that what has been already going on in social media sites. Just another tool for proving yourself that you are on the "correct" path, be it via the likes you get on Instagram or ChatGPT agreeing with you. It works until it doesn't. Worse part is that there is no human element at all. You have a chatbot that is by definition mimicking your patterns. It could…

Okay nevermind, I take back all the bad things I said about AI gooners. Keep on gooning. All my homies hate neural howlrounding now, or whatever this post is about.

It's not AI wiping out jobs, it's shithead corporations and CEOs using it to ineffectively replace jobs and services. A lot of businesses are going to neuter and ultimately kill themselves by implementing these changes chasing short-run gains.

AI can do the work of a dozen radiologist in seconds. Whilst it is certainly a skilled job, it is an almost mechanical process of recognising patterns and abnormalities, something which Al excels at. I also saw on the UK TV show QI, they could train pigeons to detect most forms of cancer, proving that it's not necessarily intelligence but more training through repetition. I totally agree with y…

All of OPs responses scream AI to me, pretty sure they aren't even thinking for themselves in their responses in reddit either. Crazy.

So far this has only come up once for me. I declined the interview and said I would happily talk to a person instead. They responded saying I could talk to a person but would still need to do the AI interview. I declined again. Sorry, but I’m not doing it.
