The pattern recognition aspect really hits home for me. There was a push to replace old NLP models with *AI*. The team working on that realized AI wasn’t doing the job and is now using string matching. Maybe next year they’ll rediscover regex and dictionary models. 🤣

Yeah, this is the issue with AI - its bad at tasks that require accuracy - this is why its actually pretty amazing in areas were even human experts struggle to be accurate 100% of the time, like medical screenings, protein folding, and data analysis. Data analysis is practically its primary function because AI is an advanced pattern finder.
