It does take skill! But you're still not a chef. Sure, they might know exactly how to get what they want out of the AI. They might know how to bypass restrictions the AI has. But that doesn't make them an artist, it makes them someone who knows what they're doing.

@kevinc721 human art is deliberate and can be meaningful. AI art is made up of random squiggles and has no intent or meaning behind it because the algorithm isnt sentient, it just compiles something for you

@darkangel7248 similar cases happen even in Europe, it's not just Asian people using it for these types of crimes. In Italy in 2020 some of these groups made local news, but I'm sure I've seen some (even since then) being brought up in online discourse, at least in my bubble. The worst thing about chatGPT is that there's not credit (or context) afforded to the actual people whose actual intelligence and labor created the words that it recombines in a simplistic way (but so quickly that we can't see it happening even if we know to look). Everything else is o us (what we use it for and how we conceptualize it).
