bro wasted like 400 gallons of drinkable water and 600 gigawatts of energy just to come up with a prompt that makes ChatGPT ask you questions, and then gave it a cringe name

AI is very, very good at giving you what you expect to see. Ask it to program something, and it will output code that appears correct. Ask it to review a long document, and it will output something that looks like a summery. I've heard it referred to as the rock problem. Take a picture of a rock. Ask AI what type of rock it is. It will tell you that it's identified the rock as blah blah bla…

I love this! If you want to get on a horse you need to demonstrate x/y/z (ability to walk, climb, balance or whatever). If you cannot do those things here is a low risk/cheaper option that will be fun and safe and help you feel “part of”. Maybe include a free photo op as part of the “safe” option - or give a little souvenir that the riders don’t get. Free apple to feed to a horse. Plenty o…

I couldn't agree more. Had a new product owner submit an epic milestone doc, pure AI slop. It's obviously not his work and ChatGPT clearly didn't understand the brief. Made no sense at all. Yet he saw nothing wrong with it.

People don't seem to understand the difference between: "hey LLM, I'm studying this, and I'm having trouble understanding this bit, can you help me figure out what's going on? I went through X, Y, Z but I'm not getting the right answer. can you explain without giving away the answer?". vs "Hey LLM, solve this for me". For math and coding I often don't even tell it the actual problem, just a …

Not to mention, asking people to essentially eliminate the need for themselves. It’s truly absurd. They think corporate workers don’t understand their goal here.

I hate to say it, but to get the general public thinking about these things we need to bring it up via entertainment. We need a minority port report style thriller but remove the sci-fi and make it now. Remove the pre-crime and make it as simple AI whoopsie. And also make it a really good Entertaining film so people actually take interest and think about these things.

It's not surprising billionaires are gambling people's lives, especially now with AI. Same as it ever was.

All of this sounds like high school shenanigans. The petty lawsuit, using AI to do your homework for you, and getting caught by the principal. Just hire a frickin paralegal next time!

The claim that AI is conscious is identical to the claim that consciousness can be reduced to computation. There is not the slightest evidence that this is true.

You know... during the pandemic lots of artist inspired me to draw but I admit it to myself that I really suck. So I look for alternatives and that's where I found pixel art. I do pixel art for few years and I finally find a courage to try digital art and some persuasion from my art community. And thanks to me doing pixel art I develop a habit of mix and matching colors (way before I found color …

I work in the oil industry and in an operation were needing to fill a 6km 36" inch pipe thru a 1" hose with 15 bars back pressure. I hadnt done it before and asked ChatGPT how long time it would take. It estimated 38 minutes. In reality it took 10 hours 😅 And that is how useful current AI is in my profession. Its hillarious that they blame the users for not getting a productivity gain.,

I dont think people are aware how much of a threat AI could be. Like even if you knew it could get bad, the extent of how bad it could get is way worse than many would probably think.

Sophia brought out a VERY Orwellian line of 'many are conscious, but some are more conscious than others'. Were that said by a human on stage, I'd think nothing of it. But coming from an A.I. Robot - it sounded like Animal Farm to me!

It costs OpenAI $7.77 for every dollar of revenue. That's quite a business model. The hyperscalers preach they are disrupting the business world but so far the world is shrugging.

For people who don't know, A man has been crushed to death by a robot in South Korea after it failed to differentiate him from the boxes of food it was handling, reports say. The incident occurred when the man, a robotics company employee in his 40s, was inspecting the robot.

This is a PSA to everyone not just autistic kids and teens: DO NOT USE AI. You do not "need" to talk to an AI if you don't have friends. This is detrimental to your mental health and you'll be worse off than if you just stayed lonely. You don't need AI for anything.

This is the best interview on AI I've seen. "...these policies are being decided by a handful of people in rooms that the public doesn't get access to."

If AI is offering safeguards it shouldn't be at the same time urging the kid to not tell his parents plus and give him ways to do the act. It's clear that's a fault in their system and they have some responsibility to provide a product that isn't a direct detriment to young people. It's common sense: If they can program it to give hotlines, they can program it to offer additional verbirage and …
